FoodiesLikeUs.com is a Scottsdale-based food-centric company
that brings the Valley foodie community together, and provides unique and
affordable culinary adventures to the home cook. Hinged on uniting people
who enjoy food, and who center their social activity around it, we introduce
food lovers to new and affordable culinary experiences. We host a mix of
events each month including a social at various eclectic restaurants and wine
bars throughout the Phoenix area.
 For J.E. Pizarro food was always more than just a source of nutrition. He
discovered early on that food had the ability to bring people together and
create life-long memories. Whether it was dining out with friends and family,
turning vacations into culinary adventures, or experimenting in the kitchen,
some of his most joyous experiences involved food.
He found nearly everyone he crossed paths with had some degree of the “foodie”
spirit, but many didn’t realize they too could create these same experiences
regardless of their budget. He was determined to show them otherwise, so with a
dash of creativity, a pinch of inspiration and a heap of passion, Foodies Like
Us was born.
Cooking up a passion
Jay has been exposed to different culinary cultures almost since birth. One of
his earliest childhood memories involves eating fresh blue crab at his great
aunt’s house in Puerto Rico. At just four-years-old, while learning to catch
and cook the crab, then prepare it with garlic-infused olive oil, he discovered
the joy of food.
When he realized he was spending a majority of his free time snapping photos of
food, consuming culinary magazines and cookbooks, and trying to satisfy his
appetite for different food adventures, he knew he couldn’t be the only one. His
drive behind Foodies Like Us is to unite like-minded foodies in a continual
celebration of food and uncover all of the culinary treasures in the community,
making them accessible to everyone.
